District hotel in the heart of downtown Portland.
Meet your friendly Tour Manager and traveling
companions at tonight’s Welcome Meeting.
Multnomah Falls
Stitchin’ Post, Sisters, Oregon
DAY 2 PORTLAND – SISTERS - BEND
Our journey over the Cascade Mountains begins
after a visit to the area’s beloved quilt shop, Pioneer
Quilts. Later, after a picnic lunch, arrive in Sisters
to stroll the streets of frontier stores that look like
they’re out of a classic cowboy movie. Before the
crowds arrive for tomorrow’s outdoor quilt show,
indulge in some shopping at the Stitchin’ Post quilt
shop. Admire stunning displays by legendary quilt
artists, then savor dinner before settling into a lecture
at the Quilter’s Affair Main Event. BLD
DAY 3 BEND - SISTERS
Start your day at the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show,
where quilts appear everywhere…on buildings,
over balconies, in windows, on fences. This is the
world’s largest outdoor quilt show and it feels like an
old-fashioned country fair. Later, shop for quilting
cottons at The Quilt Basket, then relax at our Bend
hotel before enjoying a savory dinner with your
evening at leisure. B
DAY 4 BEND – HOOD RIVER - PORTLAND
Take in the forest and farmland views on the
journey northward toward Mount Hood’s majestic
snowcapped range. Enjoy a stop at Hood River
Fruit Loop’s farm stand before arriving at the
fabled Multnomah Falls, nestled in the heart of
the Columbia River Gorge. Tonight, arrive back in
Portland and settle in to our Pearl District hotel,
our home for the remainder of the tour. B
DAY 6 PORTLAND – TILLAMOOK –
CANNON BEACH
In a restored wooden schoolhouse, Latimer Quilt
& Textile Center showcases unique early needlework, mid-19th-century quilts, hand-woven coverlets
and early 1900s crocheted and hand-woven pieces.
Witness Oregon’s fabled coastline in Cannon
Beach, lined with handcraft-filled shops and
galleries. Stroll the beach to see fantastically shaped
driftwood and fog-shrouded islands populated by
nesting seabirds. Center Diamond, the local quilt
shop, specializes in gorgeous 100% cotton fabrics,
patterns and notions. Celebrate your journey at this
evening’s customary Farewell Dinner. B D
